As discussed in the Mayor’s Message on November 1, there was a tentatively scheduled Public Hearing on December 11th for the Planning Commission to review a proposed Comprehensive Plan amendment for the Engle Tract.  On November 8, the Town received a request from the development group to delay the Public Hearing by roughly 60 days to ensure they address the concerns of citizens during the last two public input sessions they hosted.

Once the Public Hearing has been rescheduled, it will be advertised in the newspaper (Loudoun Now), posted on the Town’s Facebook page and  website, and included in the weekly email. As before, if you would like to review their proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment, it is available on the Town’s Website.

The process has not changed, only getting a delayed start at the request of the developer. After the Planning Commission Public Hearing, the Commission will be drafting a recommendation that will then be taken into consideration by the Town Council in another Public Hearing on a later date.  After this round of Public Hearings on the Comprehensive Plan Amendment, there would be another set to discuss a Rezoning Application, if the project continues to move ahead.
