📌 Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services has announced changes to several Independence Day events scheduled for Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, 2026, due to a forecast of excessive heat. The changes are being made in coordination with the Loudoun County Office of Emergency Management, Safety and Security and out of an abundance of caution to protect the health and safety of parade participants, attendees, vendors, volunteers and PRCS staff.

The annual Lovettsville Community Center Advisory Board Hometown Parade on Friday, July 3, in the Town of Lovettsville is canceled.

The July 3 Independence Day Pool Bash at the Lovettsville Community Center Pool will still be held from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. The public swim hours at the Lovettsville Community Center Pool have been adjusted to 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The July 3 Lovettsville Community Park fireworks celebration will be held with adjusted hours. The start of the event will be delayed to 7:30 p.m., with the free fireworks show beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m. The rain date for a fireworks-only show at Lovettsville Community Park is Monday, July 6, 2026, at 9:30 p.m.

Due to the forecast for excessive heat, PRCS will provide misting cooling tents and additional shaded tent areas at both fireworks celebrations at Lovettsville Community Park and Franklin Park. Residents are reminded to drink plenty of fluids and wear light-colored clothing if they plan on attending these events.
