LOVE Winter – Hometown Holidays
The LOVE Winter Committee is hard at work, but could use your help!  So far, the committee has planned the following:

  • Menorah Lighting – November 28th, 5pm – Share the story of Hanukkah, Share Stories of Light, and Light the Menorah!
  • Cocoa Crawl – December 4th, 2-5PM – The fabulous return of last year’s hit event, the Cocoa Crawl!  If you are a local business and would like to participate, please reach out to Councilmember Edmonston by November 17th, we even have slots for homebased businesses this year.
  • Wintertainment:  Tree Lighting Ceremony and Lantern Parade – December 4th, 6-8pm – Start your evening at the Lovettsville Community Center (5:30PM) for their Lantern Decorating Workshop (email to register). The Lantern Parade will begin at the Community Center at 6:15pm and end at Zoldos Square. Upon arrival at Zoldos Square, we will gather around the Town Christmas Tree to enjoy a reading of “A Visit from St. Nicholas”, sing the “Last Christmas” and “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer”, watch the TREE LIGHTING and hide the Christmas Pickle (my favorite part)!!! They are also working really hard to get a visit from the big man himself (with the elves of course).
  • Light Up Lovettsville Judging:  Light Contest – December 11th, 6-8pm  – Why wait for a cold windy day to light up your home for the holidays? We will have a Business Holiday Spirit Award, Bing Crosby Award (most traditional), Chevy Chase Award (most outrageous), Rudolph Award (first time winners), and Juniper Drive Award (best decorated street).
  • Light Up Lovettsville Awards – December 16th, 6:30PM – Join us at the Town Council Meeting for the Light Up Lovettsville Awards and celebration of the winners.
  • Berserkle in the Squirkle – January 1st, 10AM-2PM – Only in Lovettsville can you find Beserkle on the Squirkle. This annual fun run is a silly 5K run done completely in the Squirkle, with themed laps, re-gifted prizes and all the quirk you’d expect from an event with the word “Beserkle” in it.
