Sunday, June 19, is Juneteenth. The day is also known as the African American Emancipation Day. On June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, TX, and announced the end of the Civil War and the end of slavery.

In observance of the Juneteenth Holiday, the The Town of Lovettsville Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, June 20, 2022 and re-open the following business day for normal business hours.
