NOTICE OF DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING

The Town of Lovettsville desires community input on three projects under design including: planned improvements to the intersection of East Broad Way sidewalk (UPC 125403); North Berlin Pike (Route 287) and West Broad Way (Route 673) (UPC 124326); and a shared use path along North Berlin Pike from West Broad Way to Tilgham Place (Route 1387) (UPC 125407). The Town will be holding a Design Public Hearing to gain additional input on design elements from the community on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Council Chambers located at 6 East Pennsylvania Avenue, Lovettsville, VA 20180.
Project Descriptions:
East Broad Way Sidewalk (UPC 125403): Improvements along East Broad Way include installation of a sidewalk and an improved watermain system.
Berlin Turnpike at West Broad Way Intersection (UPC 124326): Improvements will include installing sidewalk, improved storm drainage, and minor roadway improvements to address speed and pedestrian safety at the intersection of North Berlin Pike and West Broad Way.
North Berlin Turnpike Shared Use Path (UPC 125407): Improvements along North Berlin Pike include installing a shared use path and improved storm drainage from Tilgham Place to the Town Square.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalks and paths will provide safe pedestrian connections from neighborhoods to the west and north of Town Square to the center of town.
These projects are funded with a combination of federal, state, county, and local funds.
All people desiring to speak will be given an opportunity to do so at this meeting. Written copies of statements are requested but not required. Provide your written or verbal comments at the Public Hearing on the day of the meeting or submit them by July 8, 2026 to Charles Mumaw, PM via email at cmumaw [at] lovettsvilleva.gov (cmumaw[at]lovettsvilleva[dot]gov). The preliminary project designs, project material plans, and schedules are available for review at the Town Office, 6 East Pennsylvania Avenue, Lovettsville, Virginia 20180, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, or online at https://www.lovettsvilleva.gov/projects.
