UPDATE: Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic many of the Town events in 2020 have been cancelled.
The Town of Lovettsville hosts many great events throughout the year. All of our events are FREE and our dedicated events committees and wonderful volunteers work year-round to make these events so successful.
Eggstravaganza is a gigantic egg hunt hosted by the Lovettsville-Waterford Ruritans in partnership with the Town. The event is held on the Town Green (11 Spring Farm Drive) and features more than 5,000 Easter eggs, as well as crafts and games for children.
Arbor Day (April)
Since 2013, Lovettsville has been recognized as an official Tree City USA. Local students and scout troops join the Mayor on Arbor Day to plant and dedicate trees for the Town, while also learning to keep trees healthy.
Lovettsville’s MayFest is a full day of outdoor games for children and families, as well as a craft fair, food vendors, and musical entertainment. To learn more about MayFest go to the MayFest website.
Memorial Day Ceremony (May)
Join us on the Town Square (1 West Broad Way) for the Town’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony to honor military personnel who died in the service of their country.
Summer on the Green (Saturday nights during the summer)
Summer on the Green in Lovettsville means a great schedule of outdoor concerts and movies. These free and family-friendly events are held at the Walker Pavilion on the Town Green (11 Spring Farm Drive). For more information, go to Lovettsville’s Summer on the Green Facebook page.
Patriot Day Ceremony (September 11)
Please join us on the Town Square (1 West Broad Way) for our annual reflection and remembrance of those who were injured or died during the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001.
Lovettsville Oktoberfest (Last Full Weekend in September)
Lovettsville Oktoberfest is the Town’s signature event. Listed as one of the Best Oktoberfests in the World – 2018 Top Events, Lovettsville Oktoberfest brings in more than 8,000 visitors annually – locally, nationally, and internationally! Free activities for children and adults include singing (our annual attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the Largest Simultaneous Sing-A-Long, One Venue), dancing, wiener dog races, a craft fair, great bands, and other entertainment. There is also a great variety of delicious traditional food and beer from vendors and local restaurants. To learn more about this year’s Oktoberfest, go to the Oktoberfest website.
Veterans Day Ceremony (November 11)
Please join us on the Town Square (1 West Broad Way) for our annual Veterans Day Ceremony to honor all of those who have served in the military.
Start the holidays off right by attending WintertainmentFest! Following the lantern procession from the Lovettsville Community Center down East Broad Way, join us on the Town Square (1 West Broad Way) for vintage Christmas movies, a performance by the Lovettsville Elementary School chorus, a reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas, and the lighting of the Christmas Tree.
Light Up Lovettsville (December)
Light Up Lovettsville is an opportunity to enjoy holiday decorations throughout the Town, with prizes offered for the Best Theme, Most Outrageous, Most Traditional, Best NEW Winner, Best Street, Best in Show, and Business with the Most Holiday Spirit.
Berserkle on the Squirkle (January 1)
Lovettsville, the Town that put U in Quirky, brings you another of its fun and unique events, Berserkle On The Squirkle! This is a 5K Family Fun Run that is done completely in the Town Square (1 West Broad Way) on New Year’s Day. Join us for 27 laps of pain (or rather fun and silliness) where you can ring in the New Year with other Lovettsvillians! We’re not keeping time…no prize for the fastest runner. This will be a chance to celebrate the ringing in of the New Year with your friends and family. Prizes are all… re-gifts from the holidays so you can go home with something someone else doesn’t want to keep! The race champion is selected at random so everyone has the opportunity to be a winner even if you haven’t run since being chased by that big dog down the street.
Want to be part of the fun behind the scenes!? Give us a call at 540-822-5788 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer for a few hours before, during, or after an event (we ALWAYS need help with clean up).
