Mayor and Town Council Members

Lovettsville’s governing body consists of a Mayor, who is elected directly by Town citizens, and six Town Council Members. The Mayor is elected every two years. Each Town Council Member is elected to a four-year term. The Mayor and Town Council are responsible for setting the legislative policies of the Town. This includes approving an annual budget and capital improvements plan. They also consider land use requests such as re-zonings and conditional use permits.

The Mayor and individual Council Members may be contacted directly on any issue.

Meeting Schedule

The 2024 Town of Lovettsville Meeting and Events Calendar was approved January 11, 2024.   The Council generally meets at least twice a month on Thursday evenings. All meetings are held at the Town Hall, 6 East Pennsylvania Avenue, at 6:30p.m. (unless otherwise announced) and are open to the public, unless the Council is meeting in closed session. The public is invited to speak at all regular meetings and special public hearings.

Citizens wishing to submit written comments to be distributed to the Mayor and Council as part of the meeting packets should ensure they are received by the Town Clerk by 3:00 PM on the Thursday before the meeting. Written comments may be mailed or emailed and must contain the senders’ name and physical address and should indicate that they are intended for distribution to the Mayor and Council.

Comments received by the Clerk after the packet is distributed and before 3:00 PM on the day of the meeting will be distributed to the Mayor and Council at the beginning of the meeting.
