The Town of Lovettsville cancels its 2024 Lovettsville Oktoberfest; seeks proposals for events management firm.

LOVETTSVILLE, VA – While the Town of Lovettsville continues to transition to the use of an events management firm to oversee the management and execution of the renowned Lovettsville Oktoberfest, on June 24, 2024, the events management firm contracted for 2024 notified the Town that it would no longer carry out the planning and performance of the 2024 Lovettsville Oktoberfest. Since then, Town staff has worked diligently to identify an alternative partner to move forward. However, with only 9 weeks until this year’s festival, identified replacement partners and the Town have determined that its ability to execute the festival at the size and scale, while maintaining the utmost quality and tradition, is not possible. While this difficult decision does not come lightly, and is not the outcome the Town anticipated, the planning and preparations are beginning now for a big Return to the ‘Fest in 2025. All proceeds associated with the 2024 festival will be refunded and a formal Request for Proposal for the 2025 Lovettsville Oktoberfest will be published soon. The Mayor and Town Council would like to thank the Town staff, Oktoberfest Committee, sponsors, partners, and supporters of the Lovettsville Oktoberfest and look forward to raising a glass with you in 2025!

Renowned as “The German Settlement,” Lovettsville has consistently garnered international acclaim for its award-winning Oktoberfest. After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, Lovettsville Oktoberfest triumphantly returned in 2022, reclaiming its title as the 2023 Best of Loudoun Winner for Best Event/Festival and was ranked in the Top 5 for Best Event/Festival for Best of Loudoun 2024 even amid a Tropical Cyclone. Lovettsville will hold the 29th Oktoberfest celebration September 26-28, 2025.
