Lovettsville has been a thriving small community since it was originally settled by German immigrants in the 1730s. Town Dedicated new Civil War Trail Sign on East Broad The Town of Lovettsville, in partnership with the Lovettsville Historical Society, and the Loudoun County Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee, unveiled the new Civil War Trails sign at the corner of East Broad Way and South Loudoun Street on Saturday, May 4, 2013. The sign discusses troop movement through Lovettsville during the war. |

Girl Scouts Plant Flowers at Town Hall Local Girl Scouts came to Town Hall on Thursday, May 2 to help the Mayor plant the flower barrels.

The new bandstand on the Town Green is under construction and should be ready for Mayfest 2013.

2013 Arbor Day Event
The Town of Lovettsville celebrated Arbor Day on April 22, 2013. Brownie Troop 1434 helped plant two new trees at the corner of East Broad Way and Light Street. Barbara White, the Partnership Coordinator for Urban & Community Forestry Programs of the Virginia Department of Forestry, was in attendance as the guest of honor. Ms. White presented Mayor Zoldos with a plaque and flag to recognize Lovettsville as an official member of Tree City USA. This is the first year Lovettsville has earned this national designation. 2013 "Growing your Small Business" Forum
On May 17, 2013 "We're In!" - the Lovettsville Business & Tourism Committee - hosted a FREE event for business owners & entrepreneurs from the 20180 zip code. This annual business forum offers attendees the opportunity to network & build new partnerships within the community. Thank you to all who attended this event! Future Plans for the Lovettsville Community Center Loudoun County is seeking public input for the proposed renovation of the Lovettsville Community Center, which is planned as part of the county’s Capital Improvement Program for the 2014 Fiscal Year.
An informational meeting on the project was held November 29, 2012 at the community center. Staff provided information regarding the facility assessment survey of the Lovettsville Community Center, which provides renovation options for the existing building and an option to construct a new facility on the same site. 2013 Vehicle Decals The Red 2013 Vehicle Decal should have been purchased for all Town vehicles by November 15. If you have not yet purchased your decal please click HERE for more information or stop by Town Hall. The cost is $25 for cars, trucks, and SUVs and $16 for motorcycles, plus a late fee of $1.00/month. |

Congratulations to Lovettsville’s Market Table Bistro for being recognized as one of the top restaurants in the Northern Virginia by Northern Virginia Magazine. They ranked #19 out of the best 50 restaurants! Chef Jason’s scallops were selected over all of the other award winners to be featured on the cover of the magazine. |

Town Hall Collection Point for Lovettsville Food Bank The Lovettsville Food Bank reports an urgent need for foodstuffs and toiletries for local citizens. In cooperation with the Lovettsville Lions Club, a collection box has been set up at Town Hall (6 East Pennsylvania Avenue). Contributions can be dropped off during normal business hours or immediately prior to evening meetings open to the public. While all nonperishable items will be put to good use, the Food Bank would particularly appreciate canned meats (tuna, chicken, beef, etc.), canned fruits, chunky soups, stews, chili, tomatoes, tomato sauce, pork 'n' beans, and jarred fruits, jams and jellies as well as toiletries such as toothpaste and toilet paper. |
