Movie on the Green - Friday, August 8 - Babe the Gallant Pig (PG)
The next Movie on the Green will be held on the Town Green on Friday, August 8 at dusk. The movie will be "Babe the Gallant Pig" (rated G). The community sponsor for this FREE family event is Sturrock's HVAC along with support from the Town of Lovettsville and the Lovettsville Community Center. Bring you own blanket or lawn chairs and refreshments. You may also picnic on the Green before the movie. In the event of high wind or rain, the movie will be canceled.

Request for Proposals for Construction Management and Inspections Services
The Town of Lovettsville, Virginia requests proposals for Construction Management & Inspection Services for the construction of road improvements for Broad Way, including replacement of the water line, hydrants, and water services, as well as installation of curb and gutter on both sides of the road, a storm drainage system, lighting and landscaping. A copy of the RFP can be obtained HERE.
Five (5) copies of the proposal must be received in the Town Office by July 16, 2014 at 2:30 PM.
Household Hazardous Waste Collect Event - Saturday, July 26 (8:30am-2:30pm)
Loudoun residents can drop off Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) from their homes on Saturday, July 26 from 8:30am to 2:30pm at the Lovettsville Elementary School, 49 S. Loudoun Street. HHW includes, but is not limited to fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, oil-based paints/stains/varnishes, paint thinners, metal polishes, rust remover, wood preservatives, furniture polish, waxes, pesticides/insecticides/herbicides, pool chemicals, and old fuels including gas/oil mixes. Participants must have proof of Loudoun County residency, such as a County sticker or Town sticker.
Individuals households are limited to typical household quantities - 15 containers of liquid HHW (1 gallon container) and 40 pounds of solid HHW. Used motor oil, antifreeze, automotive batteries, lead-acid batteries, and propane tanks will not be accepted but may be disposed of at the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility, 21101 Evergreen Mill Road in Leesburg during normal hours for a fee. |New Recycling Carts Available!|
The Town of Lovettsville, in conjunction with American Disposal Services, will provide a 65 gallon wheeled recycling cart with lid to any household within the Town limits that requests one. All recyclables can be deposited into the recycling container together without separating.
To request a recycling cart, call American Disposal Services via their toll-free number, 866-884-8700, weekdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and speak with Customer Service. Recycling cart deliveries will begin in June.
Please recycle your old American Disposal recycling bin by putting it out for pickup on the day your new recycling cart is scheduled for delivery.

National Flood Insurance
On October 22, 2013 the Town of Lovettsville became a member of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Any resident of the Town of Lovettsville may now apply for flood insurance.
You do NOT need to live in a flood zone to apply for flood insurance. Floods are caused by storms, melting snow, water backup due to poor drainage systems, as well as broken water mains. DMV 2 GO in Lovettsville - 2014 Schedule
DMV's mobile customer service center will be coming to the Lovettsville Community Center on June 27, September 19, and December 5. Hours are 9:00AM to 4:00PM. DMV 2 Go is a handicapped accessible, full-service office that provides all DMV transactions. For more information, click here.

Town Hall Collection Point for Lovettsville Food Bank
The Lovettsville Food Bank reports an urgent need for foodstuffs and toiletries for local citizens. In cooperation with the Lovettsville Lions Club, a collection box has been set up at Town Hall (6 East Pennsylvania Avenue). Contributions can be dropped off during normal business hours or immediately prior to evening meetings open to the public. While all nonperishable items will be put to good use, the Food Bank would particularly appreciate canned meats (tuna, chicken, beef, etc.), canned fruits, chunky soups, stews, chili, tomatoes, tomato sauce, pork 'n' beans, and jarred fruits, jams and jellies as well as toiletries such as toothpaste and toilet paper.
